In 2003, Upper Deck began offering embroidered patch card packs inside boxes of their 2003 UD Patch Collection series. These packs were included as 'box-toppers' inside the box with the other regular cards and are listed as the oversized (5x7-inch) Patch Cards. Each box came with one of these box-topper packs (one card per pack).
Now you can purchase these special box-topper packs (still sealed) without having to buy the whole box of 2003 UD Patch Collection Football. There are regular and 'Gold' versions of these cards available in the packs you receive; you'll know if you got a 'Gold' patch card because it'll be no.'d/25 and is gold colored. Some of these 'Gold' oversized Patch Card box-toppers book value at over $100!
